Song of the month!

So, it's that time of the month again! Time to listen to one of Mirna's favorite songs at the current moment. So I have chosen an artist that I personally admire very much. I was on YouTube the other day and came across this very song which I could not stop listening to! It's a great song which I personally think explains me in great detail. I hope you all like it! The artist is "Beyonce" and the song is entitled "A Woman like me." Enjoy, i'm sure you'll love it! Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UijzEZ-qZwk&feature=related

Being Grateful

I realized something today. Not only was I was so stubborn but very selfish as well. I was watching a documentary on the issues concerning India these days. Particularly, the issue of "Poverty." So I was aware of the definition of this term and all the things that would follow it. Boy, was I wrong! The documentary I viewed yesterday was a big eye opener for me. The issues concerning the Indian people were completely different from the issues I was worrying about on a daily basis. I was worrying about not having enough clothes in my closet while these people were worrying about not having enough food to eat. Not only that but there was an issue of "Child Labour" that really opened up my eyes. These childeren were working like slaves while we were enjoying our childhood without any worries. Disappointment, Shame, Embarrassement, were the only things that were left for me to feel. So after, I went to my room and took a look at all the clothes, shoes, accessories and all the other materialistic things that I possessed. There were things in my closet I hadn't even worn before and realized how selfish I was. I didn't realize how selfish I had gotten, but I had a feeling my selfishness came from certain surroundings. I, myself, got sucked into this hole of wanting more when I really had all that I needed. I think when you look at others, you see what you don't have and in turn want even more to live up to that status. I have learned a great lesson, I will always remind myself of how lucky blessed I am to have what I and to never think like that again. Anyways, I think everyone should be gratful for what they have and thank the Lord each day for what he has truly blessed us with. :)

A Happy Day

Today was a happy day for myself. I guess I was just in a good mood because everything and everyone around me was super positive. I find when you stop and make some time to smell the roses everything starts to make sense. Moreover, i realized that in order for us to be happy, we must be happy with ourselves first. I can't explain how important that is in a persons life! But, remember, all the good things in life are for free. True Happiness cannot be found in materialistic items such as Louis Vuitton purses or Manolo Blahnik shoes. I guess these materialistic things can satisfy you for an hour or two and then after you get back to feeling not so good about yourself. So, make sure you find "True Happiness" in yourself first!!

Finding Happiness within Text

Today was an uneventful day followed by unwanted, depressing rain that made my day worse than it already was. So I was thinking, what's a better way of feeling happy again? One word came to thought! "Inspiration!" So I figured, I would make today's blog all about Inspiration!

With that said, I will be posting poems, articles, quotes from books and anything that I can find to enlighten my mood and hopefully to enlighten others moods as well. So enjoy!

Believe in What Makes You Happy

by Dena Dilaconi

Believe in what makes you feel good.

Believe in what makes you happy.

Believe in the dreams you've always

wanted to come true, and give them

every chance to.

Life holds no promises

as to what will come your way.

You must search for your own ideals

and work toward reaching them.

Life makes no guarantees

as to what you'll have.

It just gives you time to make choices

and to take chances and to discover

whatever secrets that might come

your way.

If you are willing to take the

opportunities you are given

and utilize the abilities you have,

you will constantly fill your life

with special moments and

unforgettable times.

No one knows the mysteries of life

or its ultimate meaning, but for those

who are willing to believe in their dreams

and in themselves, life is a precious gift

in which anything is possible.

"Very little is needed

to make a happy life,

It is all within yourself"

- Marcus Aurelius

"Happiness is the meaning

and the purpose of life, the

whole aim and end of human existence"

- Aristotle

"Happiness is a butterfly, which, when

pursued, is always just beyond your grasp,

but which, if you will sit down quietly, may

alight upon you." (One of favorite quotes)

-Nathaniel Hawthorne

"Slow down and enjoy life. It's not only the

scenery you miss by going too fast - you also

miss the sense of where you're going and why."

- Eddie Cantor

"The secret of Happiness is Freedom, and the

secret of Freedom, Courage."

- Thucydides

A special quote for the males:

"A man's happiness and success in life will depend

not so much upon what he has, or upon what position

he occupies, as upon what he is, and the heart he carries

into his position."

- S. J. Wilson

Finally a poem every human being should cherish!

Find Happiness in Everything You Do

Find Happiness in nature

in the beauty of a mountain

in the serenity of the sea

Find happiness in friendship

in the fun of doing things together

in the sharing and understanding

Find happiness in your family

in the stability of knowing that

someone cares

in the strength of love and honesty

Find happiness in yourself

in your mind and body

in your values and achievements

Find happiness in everything.

- Susan Polis Schutz

*If you're interested in reading more about these quotes and poems, you can find them all in a book entitled "The Language of Happiness" which is edited by Susan Polis Schutz.

Books

I've recently started looking into books I might be interested in reading in the near future. I have come across several but I really wanted my viewers to recommend some really good books. I'm currently reading the "Alchemist" and would recommend it to anyone who is searching for a book to read.

Anyways, is there any books you would recommend myself to read?

Do you believe in soulmates?

I for one am a strong believer in soulmates. Although I believe not everyone is destined to have a soulmate, I still believe one or two or even more soulmates are out there waiting for you.

Shy Men versus Cocky Men

Have you ever wondered why cocky men always succeed in getting the girl? Well i speak from
personal experience when i say that cocky men are the most unnattractive human beings
out there. I do not care if they are considered good looking or not, if these so called "cocky
men" show any type of disrespect or rude, innappropriate behaviour he is out the
door. I think it's vital that females realize that "Cocky men" turn out to be the biggest players
out there. Players have their own way of playing the game and being deceitful towards females.
They believe they are gods gift to women and have this idea that every female is dying to be
with them. Their personality range a big fat zero on a scale of 1 to 10 and are one of the most
disgusting, ungrateful human beings out there. If you are new to the dating scene, you are bound
to come across these horrifying creatures and will be fooled by them some point in your life.
That's why they are referred to as "Players". Most of these known players have a way of
denying the fact that they play games with females and will not accept the fact that they are the
ultimate kings of playing games with women's heads. It's sad because these men will wake up
one day and realize that they are forty years old and Lonely. Shy men, on the other hand, are a
whole different story. Although they lack confidence within themselves, they are one of the
sweetest, kindest, respectful species out there. They have one quality that i personally think is
something that women should consider while picking a future mate. They possess "Respect".
Shy men are respectful towards women and will do anything to keep them satisfied throughout
their relationships. Personally, I think it's uber sweet when shy men are so worried and careful
on how to approach women. The fact that someone might admire or like you that much is a big
confidence boost for women everywhere. Unlike players, shy men take a longer time to
approach you but at the end of the day will respect, cherish and remain faithful to
you throughout your relationship. I think that's definetely worth waiting for :)

What do you think? Do you agree?
